Religious Program

Tangie’s Just Like Mommy, LLC will offer some religious education and different classes may participate in various religious holidays in a secular manner from time to time at center’s discretion.
Various religions may be discussed as a multicultural experience for the children, but not practiced.

If any parent would like their child to be excluded from any such celebrations or discussions, it should plan alternative care arrangements for that period of time, as other staff may not be able to care for that child due to class size.
Tangie’s Just Like Mommy Childcare, LLC does practice prayer.

Scheduling During the Early Morning

Column

Children who come between 5:30 AM and 8:30 AM will be grouped together with one staff member unless staff-to-child ratio deems that another staff member is needed sooner.

A second staff member will be scheduled to come when the size of the group would exceed the child-to-staff ratio or group size allowable for one staff member.

Column

Children in each room may choose from a variety of individual or small group activities.

Column

More staff will be scheduled and rooms assigned is needed to maintain proper child-to-staff ratios and group sizes in each room.

All children will be in their own rooms with their own teachers shortly after 8:30 AM.

Scheduling During the Late Afternoon

Column

In the late afternoon, as children begin to go home, groups of remaining children will be combined on the playground or in different classrooms chosen at staff’s discretion, which suit the children’s’ developmental needs and conform to rules governing child-to-staff ratios.

No child will be outside on the playground after 8:00 PM.

Staff members will be allowed to leave as child-to-staff ratios and group sizes permit.

Column

This will continue until all children present are with one teacher at the end of the day.

Children will choose from various indoor or outdoor activities as circumstances dictate.

Programs Will Be Appropriate for the Developmental Levels of Individual Children

Column

1. Individual Classrooms Which May be In Operation Include:

a. Infant rooms for children between 4 weeks and up to 2 years.

b. Toddler room for children who are developmentally ready and over the age of two.

c. Preschool rooms for children three to five years old, including ½ day school-age children.

d. School-age room for children who attend full-day school programs.

2. After age 2, children will be grouped into classrooms according to age group.

3. However, individual children’s’ differences and developmental levels will be strongly considered in classroom placement

4. Children may be placed in classrooms, which do not correspond to the year of kindergarten entrance, if appropriate.

5. Different groups of children may be combined for activities as the center deems appropriate or as center needs.

Column

Infant and Toddler Schedule

1. Children under the age of 2 will be allowed to eat and sleep “on demand” or according to their own schedules.

2. Tangie’s Just Like Mommy Childcare Center, LLC will not attempt to force children into schedules, which conflict with the children’s natural needs.

3. Parents will be kept informed of their children’s times of eating, sleeping, and toileting during times at the center.

4. Methods parents use at home for children's eating, sleeping, and toileting will be used by the center when possible.

Column

Educational Program

1. All children enrolled in the center full time will be engaged in a learning environment. Children will be encouraged to learn alphabet, numbers, shapes, colors, and encouraged to learn to read. Children will be engaged in the specific age-appropriate curriculum to help them prepare for kindergarten.

2. Older children will be allowed to do homework, play games, and participate in other age-appropriate activities. Older children will not be allowed to play games that suggest violence or profanity.

3. Diversity and introductions to cultures will be introduced to all children.

Outdoor Play Space/Activities

The outdoor play space is located in the rear of the center. There is no swimming pool on premise. Some of the activities available for play are the following:

Water/Sand Table – Filled With Sand, Water, or Snow
Riding Toys – Apparent Use Encourages Large Motor Development
Slides – Large Motor, Positive Social Interaction Development
Balls – Bounce, Catch Variations, Jump Ropes
Walking Field Trips – Staff will periodically take children on walks throughout the neighborhood. Before doing so, they will notify the director of kids leaving the center and route to be taken.

Tangie’s Just Like Mommy Childcare Center, LLC is committed to an integrated approach based on the development of the whole child. Emphasis is on building self-esteem, knowledge of the physical world, encouraging problem solving, and helping to develop in the areas of cognitive, motor, social, and emotional language. The developmental approach is used to meet the needs of individual learner consistent with the idea that the family’s unity is a major influence in a child’s life. Our center uses Funshine Express curriculum. The curriculum is prepared by the company and received on a monthly basis. This program practices cultural diversity. Staff members are required to review the materials at least one week in advance for preparation in the classroom. Lesson plan outlines will be distributed to parents/guardian’s weekly. Tangie’s Just Like Mommy Childcare Center, LLC is dedicated to helping enhance and strengthen families through parent education and family activities.
